The EXE files are very common and they are self –extracting archives.
The main programs that open the EXE File extension are Windows – Runs itself, Mac Os – Parallel Desktop that comes with installed Windows and Linux-Cedega, Wine. .EXE cannot run in Mac OS X however, it can run when one uses emulation software. Since all file extensions belong to one category or the other, the EXE files belong to the Executable Files category. Such resources are like icons and bitmaps which executable programs make use of on their graphical interface for users.
